As September approaches, we have many things to look forward to here in theTampa Bay area; but the two biggest are the hope that the heat will somehow start to subside (which it never really does) and of course, football and tailgating. Football and tailgating go together like peanut butter and jelly or Tom Brady and the Super Bowl. We see it all the time from TV commercials (such as Bud Light) to TV shows like ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Man vs. Food’. Living in the Tampa Bay area allows us plenty of opportunities to tailgate; we have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, and the University of South Florida. As fans of our teams, September always brings high expectations and optimism but lately, October brings reality and gloom. However, the tailgating party if done properly is great throughout December; to quote the great Homer Simpson,
“We’re not here for the game. The game is nothing. The game is crap. The game makes me sick. The real reason we Americans put up with sports is for this: Behold, the tailgate party. The pinnacle of human achievement. Since the dawn of parking lots, man has sought to fill his gut with food and alcohol in anticipation of watching others exercise.”
Tailgating consists of many different things but at least three things are essential to all successful tailgates: grilling, games, and drinking. Without those three things, no party could ever be a success and yet even with them, there are some important rules to follow or to stay away from.
- Do make sure your grill is safe and food is plenty.
- Don’t be the guy who brings the lame apps. Take the time to properly plan what
- Do make sure to bring your tickets.
- Don’t worry about your diet and carb counts.
- Do support and wear your team/school colors.
- Don’t drink and drive. It’s not worth it.
- DO call Bayside Limos of Florida to book our Party Bus for all your tailgating
needs. Let us take you and your group to the game in the style you deserve.
